Regional CPA firm seeks a Senior Manager for its Quality Control Department. The Quality Control department serves as the firm’s principle resource in all matters affecting the conduct of the accounting and auditing practice.  The objectives are twofold. 
Maintain up to date standards of proficiency in the areas of accounting and auditing. 
Provide assurance that professional practices and procedures comply with the established quality control standards.

Responsibilities   
Participate in the firm’s inspection program including pre-issuance and concurring reviews, individual office reviews.
Implementation of the firm’s policies and procedures on technical matters
Implement technical developments affecting the Firm’s accounting and auditing practice
Providing technical audit support
Monitoring developments within the PCAOB, SEC, AICPA and implement firm recommended action where necessary.
Perform independent review of all full disclosure financial statements.

Experience:
CPA
7 – 10 years of strong technical audit experience in a CPA firm.
Experience in a QC department of a regional or national CPA firm

Manager - Trusts & Estates/Fiduciary Tax NYC

Manager - Trusts & Estates/Fiduciary Tax (cpa firm)

Salary:  125k-150k
Location:  NYC

 
Responsibilities:
The Manager -Fiduciary Tax Accountant is responsible for the efficient, accurate, complete, and timely review and preparation of all clients’ filing of estate, gift, individual and fiduciary tax returns as well as judicial accountings.

Review estate fiduciary income tax returns along with the decedent’s final individual tax return.
Review trust fiduciary income tax returns and individual income tax returns assigned.
Analyze estate planning documents including wills, codicils and trust instruments to determine the proper treatment of assets and liabilities for tax purposes.
Develop post mortem tax-saving strategies for the estate accounts.

Qualifications:
CPA certifications
Recent Public Accounting experience
10+ total years experience.
At least 5 years experience in the preparation and review of fiduciary income tax returns.
Expert knowledge of the preparation of trusts, estate, gift tax returns and trust accounting.

Senior Manager - Business Valuation

Senior Manager – Business Valuation

Salary:    160k – 190k + bonus        
Location: NYC

Responsibilities:

The Senior Manager will serve as a key member of the Valuation Services Group, taking substantial responsibility in performing business valuations for tax, financial reporting, transactions, litigation support and other purposes.

Manager business valuation engagements
Valuations of privately held businesses
Coordinating buy/sell agreements
Providing litigation support
Assisting with reorganization plans and reporting.


Qualifications:

ABV ,CFA or ASA credential in valuation, a CFF or CFE a plus
Ability to generate new business
10 years of recent experience in valuation for primarily tax
Current with cases and tax related valuation issues and experience with working on IRS audits and appeals.
Additional experience in financial statement fair value and in valuation litigation required.
Experience in non valuation litigation and dispute resolution  and forensic accounting a plus
Experience with testifying a huge plus
Ability to design valuation models

Description

Responsible for delivering a full range of services in the areas of fraud investigation, financial reporting, forensic accounting, internal auditing, fraud auditing, litigation support, and expert testimony.

Responsibilities
Assist in generating and developing new business
Plan and  supervise forensic accounting engagements including employee fraud investigations, contract and procurement fraud, asset misappropriation and insurance claims
Oversee projects such as financial analysis and modeling, projections, due diligence reviews, damage assessments, industry research and related investigative assignments
Manage client engagement teams
Manager client relationships and make recommendations for business and process improvements.

Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in public accounting or consulting
Extensive experience in forensics and fraud
Certification / license such as CPA, CFE, CMA or CIA
A current Book of Business is a plus
